Tutor
Position Overview:
The ACP Tutor will learn and utilize different researched-based learning methods
and tools to assist children between the ages of 5-12 with academic course work.
They will work with other stakeholders (parents, school administration, and community) to reinforce student learning taught during regular school hours,
and explore and expose uncharted gifts and skills.

Individuals will report to an after-school program Site Director/Coordinator located
in one or more of the following targeted Baltimore City areas: Edison/BelAir, Patterson Park, Franklin Square, and West Baltimore.

Primary Responsibilities:
To perform this job satisfactorily, the individual must be able to perform the following duties satisfactorily.

  • Tutor elementary students in one or more of the following areas;
    1. Educational: Math, English, Spanish, Reading, Writing, History
    2. Enrichment: Music, Performing Arts, Crafts, Sports, other
  • Perform analyses to evaluate and measure success and progress of tutoring class and program.

Skills:

  • Must have earned at least an A or B in the class assigned to tutor
  • Prefer a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Requirements:

  • Must have own transportation
  • Enjoy working with children and seeing them succeed
  • Must agree to a background check
  • Must agree to a drug test

Number of Positions: 9

Range of Hours: Varies, based on employee availability. Will work around school schedule.

Salary: Varies
